How We Help
See the work we are doing in our community to narrow the divide between essential needs and mental well-being.
Serving our Anaheim community!
July 2024
Our first large distribution in collaboration with Villages of California and Anaheim Elementary Unified School District. Our families were able to receive groceries for the week via a food distribution and then collect baby essentials and comfort items from our Baby Basics Distribution. We distributed basic items such as formula, diapers, burp clothes, blankets, breastfeeding items, bottles, and clothing, as well as postpartum clothing. However, thanks to our amazing partnership with New Mom School, we were able to go beyond the basics and supply our families with items like toys, swings, play mats, books, stuffed animals, nursing pillows, diaper pails, carriers, etc.
421 family members served.
Serving our Santa Ana community!
Northgate Market Back-to-School Community Event | Santa Ana, California
We were asked to distribute Baby Basics to our Santa Ana community in collaboration with Northgate Markets in order to support families in all the ways they might need. Our community and partners have told us first hand that there is a need for this kind of family support; and seeing from our level of attendance and distribution, we know that it is not just needed, but necessary.
August 2024
196 family members served.
Meeting our community where they are…
Our goal at Pueblos of California is to not only supply our community with the resources they need, but remove as many barriers that exist to access them. By hosting and participating in distribution events where our community members are living their lives, taking their kids to school, grocery shopping, etc. allows us to make a more direct impact as a non-profit organization whose goal is to bridge the gap.
As humans, we operate off of a hierarchy of needs. In order to create space for mental health practices and care, we must first tend to our basic, physical needs. We are here to help you climb the ladder.
Physical Health > Mental Health
The good we do would not be possible without the partnership of amazing businesses in our community who are dedicated to the work we do and helping others.
Community Partners
Donation Partner
Where education meets community in motherhood. A gathering places for mothers and their little ones where they can seek support, education, physical and mental health guidance, and connection.
New Mom School Newport Mesa is a dedicated donation partner of Pueblos of California. They have a monthly donation bin on-site that allows their community of moms to directly support and donate to our families that are in need. They have single-handedly supplied enough items for entire community distributions and we are incredibly grateful for their partnership.
Northgate Market is committed to creating healthier communities and fighting food insecurity, and as a result, they developed Viva la Salud, a comprehensive health and wellness initiative in 2010. To support their wellness and community pillars, they partner with local and national nonprofits, like ourselves, as well as health providers, government programs, schools and vendors year round to provide resources and services to our communities.
Prevention Partner
Where our youth can thrive. A mental health service provider whose community-based approach gives our youth & their families the tools to succeed. They specialize in taking a wholistic approach to mental health, as well as community outreach and prevention events.
Villages of California is our primary prevention partner, as they provide us direct access to our families and youth who are in need of assistance. By informing us of specifically or hosting dedicated events to serve their community, we are able to serve a section of our community that is unable to focus on their mental health due to their lack of resources. This partnership is intrinsic to the work we do; it allows us to both intervene and prevent a lack of basic needs in our community.
